Default Engine comparisons

110B, 120ST, 120R.

The new Softail Slim S allows for the 110B direct from the factory and is street legal plus it's covered under new bike warranty. I understand that one.

Next the 120R. From what I read is no longer available?

120ST. The 120ST is an A type motor that can not be installed in a HD Softail model? Is this true? If so, what HD models support this engine?

The 120" R motor is still available
The 120" ST will fit the Touring and Dyna models. It's the (A) motor
The Softtail platform takes the (B) motor.

Depending if you are buying new or other considerations- look at S&S also - the 124. I personally would recommend the S&S 124 over any of the 3 you listed ...

No shortage of opinions on here :-)

110 - using same crankshaft as stock 96"
120R - no warranty because it is racing.
120ST - tuned down version of 120R with warranty.

You can add JIMS 120 and 131 to your list, available as H-D approved engines from your local dealer. Which model of bike are you thinking of fitting a new engine in?

Those are also considered "race only" engines so there is no warranty.

They just e-mailed me and stated a one year warranty on both engines IF one follows with their recommendations on other parts to compliment these two engines.

The ST motor will carry a warranty.
The R motor will not.

Bore your existing engine cases and install an S&S 124" kit.
Any good shop will generally warranty what they do.
