No, you didn't strike a nerve with me, 'just figured you missed this from my Original Post;

"Idiotic tech support; The following are direct telephone from fueling Idiotic tech support... Realize that R&Ring the FootBoard Exhaust, Cam Cover and Test Rides are involved in trying the fueling BS.

Instead of getting credit card info and overnighting a new Cam Plate (as was originally proposed), fueling Idiotic tech support gets the idea to try a few things, 1) "remove cam plate and Pressure Relief Valve, while you're in there stretch the Spring a little" Tech found a clump of Loctite? or some similar substance, stretched the spring, reinstall Cam Plate, pressure still low / fluctuating while riding the bike...2) f-I-t-s; "Remove the Cam Plate, I will overnight a new spring, while you're at it, rig up a manual gauge to validate the one in the fairing", installed overnighted Spring, oil pressure still low / fluctuating, both gauges reading identical. 3) I got on the phone with the dealer (A very reputable Indy) I bought the kit from, told him what we were going through with the Idiots, and told him "Get me a new friggin' Cam Plate!), the dealer finally got the Idiots to overnight a new kit (on his dime), the new Cam Plate got the Oil Pressure within the proper ranges."

Returning the Cam Plate was the first thing the Tech tried... He definitely doesn't need the practice (R&Ring the Exhaust / Footboard / Cam Chest)... If the "fools" would have done that, instead of "Feuling has absolutely no regard for spending my Labor $$$" then I would have never started this Thread.

I don't know of any Vendors / Manufacturers that will accept returns without a "Return Authorization Form / Number" Do you?

Unless the part was purchased directly from the company that makes it, the indy should have zero problems returning a defective part to the distributor where they purchased it at.

Problems begin when people off the street bring parts purchased from who knows where and expects the indy to install the unknown sourced parts.

Besides, it only takes a single email or phone call to get a RMA number.

'Guess you didn't read the OP??

All Components in the Build were purchased from either the Vendors themselves or Authorized Distributors / Retailers, no internet or "out the back of a van" stuff here...

Yea, we tried off the rip to give fueling a cc# to have them overnight a new plate "As was originally suggested", but the idiots had a better idea...

It's difficult to get an RMA# when the manufacturer / vendor won't give a #... "Returning the Cam Plate was the first thing the Tech tried... fueling eventually took the parts back, and I guess they reimbursed the Authorized Retailer (Indy) for the parts, although the fools did not reimburse (the Indy~ one of the largest, most well respected in the country, 'thinking they probably do enough volume to buy direct.) for the overnight fees, 'pretty sure that Indy isn't doing too much business with the fools anymore...

I deliberately waited a month or so to reply, just to see if any reputable Indys would chime in on foolings behalf??

The silence is deafening...

Since 1999, we MIGHT have used 6-8 fancy-*** anodized cam plates.
Of the 15, 124" engines here since mid-December 2015, 1, had an aftermarket cam plate, and that was chosen with care.
2 of those were modified S&S crate engines,(their pump/plate/gear drive set-up) so actually only 13.

Wow! One more reason to stick with S&S. Really like their new blue cam plate and oil pump as well as the premium lifters. They Their products and customer service have served me well.

So with your experience Scott, would you leave the OE oil pump and cam plate (let's say in a 120r) alone and spend that money elsewhere? Thanks

FYI - what do you think happens to the spring when you stretch it to permanently deform it?
