single loud knock when rpms are coming down
2011 FLHTK with the 103 motor, 42 k miles. When you rev up the engine and let it come down, every once in a while there is a very loud and distinct clank sound. Kind of the noise you would hear hitting a piece of metal with a large heavy wrench. Typically it happens when the engine is warmed up, but it has happened once or twice when it was cold. It happens sporadically, and I am guessing but it sounds like it is coming from the bottom of the engine in the crank area. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Ditto. I think there are some threads around here about faulty compensators and how to fix/replace them. Maybe you can find some similar symptoms looking in that direction.
