My stock 1992/FLSTC misses on acceleration from cruise. Won't go over 70 and also misses on hard acceleration.
Any ideas? I replaced the voltage regulator to to a discharging problem and that seems to be fixed.

Bad plug wire or coil most likely, but it could be a carb problem...torn diaphragm, blocked jet, or badly mis-jetted.
I have the same symptoms and a fuel pressure test showed a drop in fuel pressure on acceleration. Even though I have a fuel injected model and you have a carb'ed model, the results are the same.
It appears to be fixed. I replaced the voltage regulator and had to trim the plug in housing to make a secure connection. That helped but....then pulled the air cleaner element. Not horrible but not good. Then replaced the spark plugs and took it out. Varooom! Nary a miss or bog. Felt sooooo good!! Too much drama I know but dang it it felt good!
