Default Valve/Lifter Noise

So after reading enough on the Internet, but before I drop my bike off at my friends shop, I just wanted to get an idea on what the cost would be (or if it's even worth it) to upgrade the lifters and push rods in my '15 Street Bob. I have just an Arlen Ness Big Sucker, Power Commander V and Rush 2:2 Drag Pipes. Not sure if it's worth going with higher performance.

I was also thinking if I was going to upgrade those (instead of adjusting them), should I upgrade the spark plugs and wires. I'm not worried about seeing a night and day difference in performance. I just was looking at making the bike run more efficiently.

Thanks!

You might well find that your noise isn't coming from the valves/lifters....

Oh thanks for the link! I kept hearing about the "sewing machine" noise on Harleys but I have a fairly loud exhaust so when a friend suggested it could be something else, I started snooping around the Internet. I'll definitely have to look into these inserts. Thanks again!

Replacing the lifters would be worthwhile. The "B" lifters were replaced by the "C" lifters in 2012; the "C" lifters are a bit different but made in Mexico. There have been quality issues reported with the "C" lifters, mostly related to the roller. I would replace them as a preventative maintenance measure with a set of S&S standards. No need to replace the pushrods but you will have to pull them from the top to replace the lifters or cut them out and replace them with adjustable pushrods.

Would you recommend the S&S standard lifters over the Feuling HP+ ones? I'm just curious which is going to perform better and longer for the bucks around the two. Thanks for the suggestion too!
