Got a chance to pick up a 2003 dyna with a 107 installed. The catch is its salvaged from theft. And I have no info on the build. It's running a super G. 10k on the motor 31k on the bike.
The guy that bought it from a salvage auction wants a bagger. I have a clean 97 evo glide that runs great. I only have 5k into my bagger. Is a salvaged 2003 FXDX with a 107 worth that? I am posting in this section because you guys know what these motors cost to build. The 107 specifics are vague.

Drawback if it were here would be the salvage title/yellow-tag bike(here in NYS).
You'd never be able to trade to a dealership, and insurance is more.

Leaving aside the salvage title issue, with regard to the value of the 107 with S&S parts, whoever built that motor likely spent at least $5k and probably significantly more than that.
Getting rid of that gruesome flouresecent green wouldn't be all that difficult...
I would look hard at the implications of a salvage title, though, as Scott suggested.
Just some "off the top of my head" thoughts on the OP.
Being a 2003 model would indicate that the 107" motor is an "all bore" 107" motor which is a great motor and with the right combination, capable of 125TQ/115HP numbers. The cases would have been bored to accommodate the larger bore cylinders and, an assumption on my part, but most likely the cases were split for the Timken left crank bearing conversion and the crank was probably trued, balanced and welded. I would also guess that the heads have been worked or are S&S like the top end. It appears that the breathers have been vented to the atmosphere which indicates that the builder was knowledgeable. Simple enough to check cams and cam plate; just pull the cam cover and take a look which I would definitely do before making the trade. Most likely, there has also been a programmable ignition added to the package. As has been said, $5K or more have been spent on building the motor; I suspect more like $6K plus having built a couple of all bore performance 107" motors.
Yeah, the baby **** green has to go but that's easy as well. Duplicolor the wheels and the Harley badge on the tank. Replace the bars with something more comfortable and you have yourself a pretty sweet ride. Can't comment on the re-title issue but in Texas it would not be a problem assuming VIN numbers match. The OP is the only one that can truly evaluate whether or not the trade is equitable but where I come from if both traders walk away from the trade happy, the trade was a good one.
Thanks for the reply. I went another direction it was a club bike ridden hard often and don't know of any maintenance. So I passed. I picked up a low mile Dyna and put together a 107 kit with jugs JE Pistons street port heads with 1.9 intake set to 10.2 compression. screaming eagle intake. Andrews 57h cams all new bearings etc.
But I am worried now cause I have not run a crank run out yet.
