Default 103HO to 110 upgrade

I'm going to essentially copy what ntraindavefl did on his build. A few changes here and there.
Is it necessary to replace your push rods and tappets?
In the grand scheme of cost, this is just a small percentage of the overall build.
I see a lot of comments from guys doing motor upgrades and replacing these parts.
Is there something wrong with the stock parts?

Stock pushrods are made for stock cams only due to the length of them. Using other cams with stock pushrods would end cause engine damage (bent push rods, bent valves).

That's a pretty broad statement. Depending on how different the base circle of the cam is, how much is milled from the head and what head gasket is used. I've used stock pushrods in several builds once I've measured to see if they are compatible with the parts chosen. The easy way out is just to choose an adjustable pushrod.
