Any good quality 20W50 petroleum motorcycle oil.
We use/stock Spectro 20W50 here, and use/stock Red Line for our synthetics.
We are shop, that does this everyday, not an individual owner
What method do you use for changing oil on a fresh engine? Similar to above with every 300 miles or? Also, do you guys do it differently if the bottom end has been gone through as opposed to just doing a big bore?

Coming from many years riding Vulcans I can tell you many Kawi guys love Rotella 5/40 full synthetic for their bikes. Also has the motorcycle label (JASO?)

There is a big difference between water cooled and air cooled engines....
I'm still convinced to use straight Dino or a blend at least for break-in.
Point being is I had a Boss 302 that came from the factory with full synthetic and it used 3 quarts of oil in the first 1000 miles. After break-in it was ok but those first 1000 was scary.
Breaking in with Dino I never had an issue of oil usage.
I have total respect for any professional that builds motors for a living. Now having said that that on my last build 107" high comp, over 11-1, 9f cams, I used Mobil 1 because I had it on hand. Went fine with no issues. Don't overthink it. Getting it tuned properly at the get go will have way more benefit over what type oil you use. Mine was broke in on dyno. It's been flawless since.
