94 ultra, cyclerama 570 is another one, if I was doing it over , would be at the top of my list. Add .030 head gaskets and it's going to be close to 100 hp/ 110 + tq. If you take a look at harleytech talk which is another forum there are lots of builders and dynos from those builders with almost all these configurations. Lots of crazy builds too.
It depends on the kind of riding you do. Like I mentioned earlier I have the 57s in my Heritage but have been thinking about putting my 255s back in. Out here in southern CA I do most my riding on curvy mountain roads and I really miss the torque.
However when I'm on the freeway the 57s really shine, I can hit 90mph real quick with no effort regardless whether or not my wife is on the back.
Yea I appreciate the opinions
I guess I will sell the 57s
They are great but probably not for my stock bike now
I will look into the TTS good thngs about them
ill put the 57s in the for sale catagory
Thanks
This can get a bit crazy but it's also simple. If you want tq. over mid range then go with a tq cam. The 48 is a great cam as well as the 575 from cycle rama and the TTS100's. However you could keep your 57's and bump the comp. to 10.3 and make sure you have 2 1/4" baffles and you should be fine as long as you have a great dyno tune or even use a 2-n-1 exhaust.
Hope this has helped as others have said.
10.3 is pushing it, will require a good tune for 9.6 corrected and CCP at 200psi (at sea level). The question is how to get there. Shave heads down or domed pistons, neither of which the OP has expressed a desire to do.
Advance the 57s 4* and call it good or sell the 57s and go with a different cam.........
Some guys seems to run the 57H at 10.5 (205ccp) with no issues.
9.8 corrected and CCP at 205psi is pushing the envelope for me. I like 9.4-9.6 corrected and CCP about 195 for a street build. Not dictating to the forum, just informing and suggesting. Can you post some dyno sheets of the 57 at 10.5 static? I would like to see them and compare with more conservative configurations to get a feel for what the extra boost in compression actually accomplishes. Anyway, at the end of the day, we all have to decide what we think will work best to meet our needs......
I have a new set of Andrews 57H cams that I was gonna put in my Twin Cooled Ultra Limited
It has FM Jackpot 2-1-2 header and Rineharts and SE Ventilator
I am also using a Power Vision from FM
It runs out great
Gonna do a cam only change next month
Is it worth my time to put the 57H cams in it?
Or are the Andrews 48H or Woods 222 better suited?
Maybe the cam only change over the cams in it now isnt worth it
Bike is Twin Cooled so I think it is at 10.2 comp
Thanks
All depends on what you are looking for and where you want the best gains. The 57H is a good all around cam, it makes good power thru the mid-range and rev's out well. Its an easy cam to tune as well.
