Default Upgrades/cams

Hi everyone I'm new to the forum. I have an 2010 street glide 103 with a stage 4 se engine kit. The previous owner had all the work done. The engine kit came with 259 cams and it was too much for him so he degraded to 255 cams. My question is, is there a limit on size of cams i should install. I have the opportunity to hey a set of woods cams with. 660 lift, i guess they are pretty nasty. What all would i have to upgrade in order to install these. Like would i have to install new valve springs or would the ones i have handle a.600 lift cam.? Thanks for any help

That cam will need springs and is likely too much for motor anyway.. Compression would need a boost and valve travel clearances checked. Heads will need a complete rework.

Or if you want to improve performance with what you have, pick another cam that'll work with what you have.....

IMO the se255 is really a crappy cam.. All low end, nothing up top.. The stage IV kit is a higher compression 103 at 10.5 to 1. The heads are CNC ported factory stockers with 1.875 intakes and 1.575 exhausts. Max lift is 0.585.. IMO if you want to go with another cam.. The 259e is a bit too much cam. You be better off with a Tman 590 or Woods 777..

As mentioned there are many great cams 600 or under lift that shine at 10.5 compression. 660 lift requires many upgrades and for a 103 hardly worth it.

I wasn't sure about the configuration of the CNC heads. Obviously a little better than stockers.... But still made for low to midrange... @ 10.5 the T-man would be a nice match or even the Woods 888.

Ever notice that the T-mann cams emulate the woods line? I've never run anything other than Woods cams..... the quick ramps are a little harder on the valve train and require adjustable pushrods but it does make a noticeable difference...

Except that the T-Man Cams are known to be Quiet...

OP, you might take a look at T-Man's "new" 585...
