If you make 175 out of a 103. I'd bet it would be soft on the bottom. 100tq at 3000 maybe and peak tq would be up around 4500. Probably not a 5800 redline either.
Jesus Scott.... I couldn't imagine 175 HP on the road... I'd probably have to run M/T 29x16 on the back. Damn Scary....
Doesn't have to be scarey...I run a Shinko DOT 190/17 in the rear, and it's plenty enough.
It's all in the cam profile, and when and where the power hits. My HP is set up so the daily driven/around town/freeway chores are actually pretty mild, and EZ to ride. Need to get serious? it's all upstairs, ready on demand, when you want to go there.
IME stock heads won't go any better than 100hp. Stock throttle body is somewhere around 115hp. A 120/120 engine isn't hard or considered max effort.
My current set-up has stock heads and throttle body and it made 115hp/123tq. 110ci, 999-6A's, 10.5's, S&S crank, oil pump and cam plate and a Bassani Road Rage. Is my next step heads and throttle body???.....absolutely. I just wanted to put it out there that you can make great power with stock heads.

Those are respectable numbers!
What 110 kit did you use? Pardon my lack of knowledge but what are 999-6A's
I'm assuming the 10.5's is the CR? What tuner are you using?
Not really. Not what I have seen out of 103 stock heads. Not what any of the tuners I talk to have seen. But I was referring to stock heads on a 103. I haven't used box stock heads on anything bigger or built. I guess he went another way around the barn.
You have flowed them. Do you think they can support 115? Those numbers are typical of what I see out of a bolt in cam in a 110. Get the 110 heads worked and it can be more square.
I haven't seen it all and will keep the conservative numbers when talking with customers about their expectations.
