Default New heads, new (bad) noise

Hey,

Today i've installed a set of ported heads in my FXDC, ended up buttoing all up and went to start the engine, it started just fine and sounded normal at first.

However, I could notice a weird noise coming out of the engine, at first it sounds like a leak from somewhere so I got a incense stick and couldn't find anything, I left the engine running and smoke started to get out of the engine, it seemed to come out from the left side between the two cylinders, from the intake manifold, I looked in there and couldn't find anything strange.

The new heads comes with ACRs and wired them up, suposedly they work fine since I get a click when I turn the ignition on, maybe they were stuck open however disconnecting the solenoids didn't do anything to the noise.

The next i'll do is a compression test to discard head gasket failure, could a bad adjusted pushrod not close the intake valve completely and cause a backfire? I'm pretty sure that I adjusted the pushrods correctly (done that a few times already) however, the noise seems to come from the rear head and the smoke coming out from the middle of the heads could be a intake valve not closing completely and somehow getting past the intake seals

This is a video with the noise

Default acr

if the bike didn't have electric acr's before even though u may have wired them in per instructions moving wires around fuse box on fuel pump circuit and putting purple wire on terminal 19 I think they still have to be turned on using race tuner or dyno jet
my guess is exhaust gasket leaks, a real bitch to find as soon as u start it its instantly hot and u cant keep your fingers near it to find a leak. I had a lot of trouble on my last head change ended up doubling up the after market se flat gaskets.

Sounds like maybe the lower rocker gaskets are upside down, or exhaust leak

I did enable the ACRs via PV and they seems to work, I even disconnected them from the wiring to see if they were causing that noise, no luck,

Yeah, i'm on that way, i had the lower rocker gaskets upside down once and ended up with the entire engine covered with oil , i paid special attention to installing them correctly this time but if no other thing comes up i'll check it.

Did a compression test, the engine was warm, I could touch it with my bare fingers and it started to hurt after a few secs so it wasn't hot, neither warm, both cylinders were right on at 180psi so I guess that the head gasket isn't an issue here.

The weird thing here is the smoke coming out from the intake manifold area

And the quest goes on...

Today I went and swapped the (new OEM) exhaust gaskets for a set of james exhaust gaskets, tried to make sure that everything was fitting as it should, torqued the nuts per HD manual and fired her up, same thing.

In an attempt to isolate the issue to the front or rear cyl I left the engine running on just one cylinder by removing the front plug wire, fired the engine and the noise was still here, did the same on the rear by only leaving the front cyl running, noise is gone.

I'm starting to believe that the noise is coming from the ACR port, that would explain the smoke coming out from the middle of the cylinders, maybe I didn't torque it correctly and the exhaust gas is leaking from there and making that noise, i'll pull the rockers and rocker base and take a look at it.
