Stay safe down there Kirby, glad you got the "duck" out of the pool and safely inside. Would be a shame to loose that.

Thanks again for this. So assuming I won't be opening up the engine again and it's cranking at 215 what does it mean that this is a lot for street, does it damage anything or just a rough ride of some type? Should I do the timing myself via my PV or is that something I should just mention to my tuner once I get there?

Your tuner should know... Last thing you want is detonation and high engine temps. Sure way to shorten the life expectancy of your motor... Might have to run it a little rich to help keep it on the cool side with timing held back a tad...

I ran 220 psi in a 95 ci RK for 30K and had no problems.. I changed from H290s to TW55s not to lower the CCP but I got tired of replacing lifters every 10000 miles. Tuned right 215 is fine.. I also have a carbed 116 running 220 ccp at 11.3 on socal gas. Runs great but will likely need a crank in another 5000 to 10000 miles.

Awesome thanks as always guys! Spoke to my tuner yesterday, he starts to slow down in early October and wanted to wait until I had about 500 miles on the build, but he was cool with the compression as well. Since I went from a 103 to a 107 with new pistons and AC, but heads, cams, exhaust, are the same as when tuned last time, I'm hoping it won't have too many changes, albeit I love to watch the process.

If CCP is really an issue, you can just buy a cam with a later closing * to bleed the comp down a little. Or maybe a thicker headgasket could do it if you want to tear the top end appart...

Yeah, I don't think it's an issue. Bike starts right up and rides absolutely beautifully. Even with the prior tune, no weird sounds, pops, pings. And to be fair, I have no idea what the difference is with low or high compression, it just struck me as odd that it was higher than what I see most people post.

At this point I've been in the engine so many times (since I do each project separately vs. an entire build all at once), that I'm done for a while... Unless of course I decide to not ship your new Throttle body and keep it for myself
