Default using knock offs

Hi.
budget build, got a 2009 softail 96".Want to build a 103"big bore with other peoples knock offs. used pistons, used se255 cam and head work.
Am I asking for trouble for using all used parts or should I buy new maybe a 107" without the head work and get better reliability?
thanks

There's a lot to chew on. Condition and miles on used parts? If the used combo was togerher on a reliable motor then thats a good start.

They're called TAKE-OFFs
Knock offs are copy or counterfeit parts.

It's not a jab, Just the header was misleading and I thought it was a review of a Knock off experience you wanted to share or warn about.

No problem. The guy doing my tune warned against going with used pistons and I thought maybe there might be a problem with wrist pins or something

If the miles are up there on the piston/cylinders you should re ring it and a light cylinder hone. Measure the chamber volume. Measuring is critical if these parts were not all used together previously

I'd torque plate the cylinders and run a fixed hone through the bores. Get em round and straight again. They can rattle a little from the extra clearance but ring seal will be good.
