Turn them upside down with the valve faces pointing up and the head leveled and pour a little alcohol on them then watch to see if any seeps into the port's. Old school trick.

so as long as nothin leaks through after i lapped them im good ?
while the fluid test is usually pretty good, your machinist can pressure test them for you if you feel the need,,,,,most home shops don't have the stuff for it, but it wouldn
't cost much either.
