I have several but the one I trust and had tested is an old generic with the glass busted out.

One thing to keep in mind with calculators. Cam card give us info at .053 tappet lift. See cam card in .050 and .053 and having a whole degree change with a .003 difference. Pinion sprockets don't always fit the tightest and can cause a change. To get better numbers. Degree the cam.

A calibrated one. Anything else is just a guess.

I don't really take a compression tester's readings as the end all. As long as it's within 10% or so. When testing compression, what im more concerned about is consistent numbers with the cylinders.

Unless everything is measured, it's a crap shoot.. If the motor seems to run well, doesn't ping, find an exhaust system that gives better low end torque. IMO the heads are probably a little too big for the motor if you want low end torque.. Sometimes advancing the cam helps but it will raise the CCP a few psi.

Battery fully charged, battery charger in place, air cleaner off, throttle wide open and 8 completed cranks?

If the 220 or 210 reading was correct then the bottom end wouldn't feel soft.
If the exhaust is solid and you didnt go too nuts on the valve sizes then just live with it or swap to a better low end grunt cam. I have a buddy that feels his 625 @200ccp is bottom soft too... surprised me.

Runs really well, no pinging, exhaust is a Rush Wrath 2.25 baffle, I agree with you on the heads probably have more than I need

No real complaints about the build set out to hit 120 square and ended up at 125hp/121tq. It's solid and pulls hard all the way to the top. Have a Rivera Primo Game Changer sprocket on the comp and a 30 tooth trans pulley so that helps with the bottom end. Just doesn't like to be at 2500 or lower, I just need to get used to keeping the rpms up a little higher than I used to. Had my tuner never mentioned the other cam..........it's always what if

Funny how these threads end up, I was really wanting to discuss what others are using to test their compression and how far they are off of calculated compression. I do think the most important thing is to use the same gauge every time it's checked.

If no one feels that 220 CCP is out of the ordinary for a 10.5:1 with a 41* intake close then I'm not concerned about it. Gonna ride it like I stole it, beat it like it owes me money and when the bottom end goes I'll start a big motor build thread
