Default Ping ...... on a harley

question I have a thundermax installed and I recently installed the .030 gaskets on the heads since i had it apart for rocker lockers I though wth .... i had it apart and said why not i had installed the ss510g cams a month earlier about 3 week later I deceloped a tick or a tap stethescope pin points noise to front cylinder top end left side ..... so i changed to ss premium lifters and set at 3.5 turns ..... absolutely NO difference .... I cahnged the wxhaust donts a week before also .... checked all the clamps bolt tightness...

i ve had the rockers aprt about 6 times now trying to locate this freaking noise .... i know what more valve noise is supposed to sound like since i upgraded cams ... but the rear cylinder is quiet and smooth sounding ... i bought new shafts and bushings havent done it yet .... but my real question is here is .... could it be severe pinging ? Another thing i loaded the rockers up on install with assembly lube and the ticking was gone for a few mins after start .... freah oil change ... cemtered rockers ..... even pulled heads apart and checked valves thought maybe one was tweaked from a quick adjustment .... still no change any ideas ? Driving my crazy .... its getting oil to the top end same amount on both heads simply rotaing starter with plugs out ... ... new oild pump and oring all things torque per book spec all clean new oil pump .... at a loss here

If you have 32 TPI pushrods, put another 5-6 flats on the preload on the lifters...

Do the rockers touch the rocker cover?
Maybe it's that borderline that it's only hearable at the front cylinder.
Check for markings on the inside of rocker cover.
