Personally the only thing I see is that the motor needs to be run harder.. Plugs look pretty clean so it's not burning much oil. (they all burn oil)

Add. BTW, the black shmoo in the intake ports is likely the powder coat flaking off.

My 08 looked the same . i resented the oil to the atmosphere . I used chemtrol to clean intake and add seafood to fuel . looked at it with a borescope and most of the carbon was gone . another senior member told me about it a few years ago and IT WORKED !!

Powder coat? Inside the ports? Uhhh... I'm unfamiliar with that one. This stuff is goopy, oily, looking, and sticky. Definitely oil being vented in, at least by my judgement.

Thank you for the input about the plugs. By doing some light research, I've found that they show signs of running lean, if anything.

I'm not quite sure what's goin on here . I assume you mean Seafoam? What about the Chemtrol? Never heard of it. But yes, I do plan on doing some fuel system additives. Redline full system cleaner is in the works for when I get it back together.

There are 17k mi on the bike with only around 8-10k of those miles being vented to atmosphere. So the bike spent nearly half it's life sucking oily air into the intake. This bike's an oil spitter too. I may do a compression test just to check things off my list. Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by "Vented in"

The black stuff is PC, HD PCs the heads before machining and they don't clean out the ports. The fuels slowly eat away at it. The reason it being goopy, oily and sticky is oil stems from buildup over time. Some of it is from oil being blown off the valve / guide. Some of if from oil leaking past the rings. Again it not much but it builds up over time.. The thing is that with port injected EFI does not do a good job of washing the port down like a carbed bike. The stuff gets blown out typically at low speed when intake flow reverses due to the intake valve not closing at BDC.

The 17K was a typo. I meant to say "17K miles but with only about half those miles being vented to the atmosphere"; my fingers just didn't keep up with my brain. I am not one prone disagreeing with members like Scott and Max; both are more knowledgeable on the subject matter than I. I did say that I "suspected" the motor was consuming oil and, as Max points out, they all use oil. Don't know how much oil is being consumed but if a lot, Max is right, you should see black spots on the plug insulator. Bottom line for me, if it was mine, I would check compression and leak down just to take them out of the mix.
