good read MM....I saw a video comparing the stock cam plate to aftermarket...the stock blow off valve didn't activate at the correct pressure...the video went on to say some engine building places will "blue print" your oil pump an cam plate for around $50 plus parts an shipping. I might look into this when I do my cam bearings an lifters an tensioners at 50K
Not Scott but if your stock plate is in good condition use it. I'm sure Scott will agree.
Mine needs to be replaced. Trying to decide between S&S or SE and looking for advice and suggestions. I see a lot of comments about the stock plate being sufficient but curious what people do when theirs needs to be replaced.

I like the gold colored cam plate (SE) over the blue cam plate (S&S) when it is installed on the bike.
But as soon as you put the chrome cover on one can not see the cam plate .
The OEM unfinished ( alum colored ) should be more than enough for stock applications.
Buy what you can afford if the one in your bike is nfg for what ever reason cause once it is installed nobody but you knows whats inside.
