Will I notice any power increase if I install a new cam (thinking Andrews EV27's) and Pushrods on an 88 stock Evo?
No head work or pistons, just the cam and rods.
It's a 94 Softail Custom, V&H Big Shot Staggered and high flow Air Cleaner.
And I'm doing a S&S ignition module with a dual fire coil.
The pushrods mean nothing. they have a job to do.
You are limited in the cam dept by stock CR value so you will probably need a bolt in. (as you stated )
Yes, you will realize more pwr.
There is more almost free pwr there just by decking the virgin heads.
It becomes a slippery slope and I am **** over teakettle.
I put a EV 3010 in my 99 fatboy which I read is an almost exact copy of the 27 an it was like a different bike. First test ride I bounced it off the rev limiter twice it reved so much more quickly. It's def worth the effort.
I realize you are looking for feedback from someone with a similar build, but another option you might try is calling or emailing Andrew Products with your question. The few times I've contacted them, I thought their tech support was very good.

Yes, you will feel a noticable difference. My brother has a similar bike, 97 Heritage, high flow A/C, 2 into 1 exhust, ignition and a EV27 cam, he did not pull top end. Even with the stock compression and no headwork the cam works well.
