I have a 14 Limited (wet heads obv.) with 30k miles. Im looking at doing the S+S 110 kit, which comes with the oil pump and cam plate, and uses the 585 easy start. Id also like to send the heads to Cyclerama, for some of their magic, and havent decided how to beef up the clutch.
my questions:
can I get away with the stock throttle body for now (reaching the extent of my budget)?
will the 585 cam work well with headwork?
how reliable are builds like this?
thanks for your thoughts
AIM lock-up hat will handle the clutch chores, and an S&S .570 would whip the torque up MUCH sooner than the .585, which is paramount in a heavier bike.
110"/.570 evidence can be seen on our company Facebook.

If Cyclerama is doing the the headwork, why not talk to Wes about one of his cams to go along with it. Not throwing shade at S&S, just sayin? CR cams are putting up some nice numbers.
Only because 1. I like the easy starts. And 2. The S+S cam would come with their BB kit.
If I part things out more, I will definitely consider his cams.
It's not a dog if the compression is set right but I do agree it's more a mid to high rpm cam, not the best choice for a tourer.
SE Heavy duty spring + the AIM VPC is the go for your clutch upgrade.
Wouldn't your bike have ACR's?
Thank you everyone- seeing consistent opinions on the 585, ok. And Ive scrolled through some of Scotts dyno sheets from builds using the 570- WOW at the flat torque curves!
And yes, I do have ACRs, but those EZ starts are sooo light, I had 551s in an old, stock, Ultra, started and ran beautifully.
Any thoughts on the reliability of these builds? Some people tell me you have to keep them stock or Ill be running into constant problems, but if most of the parts are an upgrade over stock, and its built correctly, I find that hard to believe.
