New to Me 2004 Road Glide.
Sorry, I misunderstood your [previous post.
The RG shifts into first with a very mild clunk and shifts though the gears smoothly. The RK (retired police bike) has always had a much more pronounced cluck when shifting in to first. When shifting gears, the pedal does this weird thing were it sort of springs or kicks back slightly. There also seems to be an odd noise coming from the general area of the primary. Lately there is an intermittent grinding when putting the bike in gear, like the clutch is not fully disengaging.
I have done fluid services and clutch adjustment as per the service manual several times but the shift issues persist. At one point, I found that the c-clip that holds the primary shoe had popped off and the shoe was bouncing around. This makes me suspect an issue with the compensator, clutch or transmission shaft.
Am I barking up the wrong tree? Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
Other than that, the bike is an absolute blast to ride. Good power and handles well for a bike of that size.

Garrman

2002 FLHPI. The clutch hub is one of the areas I suspect of being the problem.
Besides a hard time finding neutral, what other symptoms did your customers bike exhibit?
Thanks,
Garrman
