Default Ticking engine while accelerating

Over the summer I've noticed a ticking noise while I'm accelerating. This is over and above the typical tick. This one comes up when the bike is good and warmed up, above 45-50 mph and ONLY when I'm giving it gas, whether to keep speed while going up a hill or accelerating to cruising speed. When I reach my speed and level the gas out it goes away. I don't typically run my bike hard. Just like to cruise. However one day I took it out and gave her hell. That ticking noise got really loud while I was open throttle speeding up. It sounds to me like a rocker is hitting the cover. I've checked the exhaust for leaks and loose bolts. Everything is good and tight. I've changed the oil a couple times and haven't found anything in the oil that shouldn't be there. I even switched oil from Amsoil to Castrol. No difference. The bike currently has 17,500 on it. 2012 SG 103. Screaming Eagle intake, 2 into 1 fat cat, TTS Tuner. Stock internals. Anyone ever had this happen or know what might be the issue? Thank you
