Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
My motor is in need of a rebuild. Im planning on using the s&s power package for my 88". Im also going to use a thundermax ecm and a thunderheader exhaust. Would anyone know of the heads and throttle body that'll pare up with the 100" package? Thanks in advance!
id do a 98" kit with 1.9/1.630 headwork & 55mm t body,S&S 585 cams would be a good choice too
Word.
There's some talks on the street that the S&S 100 kit had some cylinder skirt cracking issues from being so thin. Maybe they're corrected it but I'd recommend tucking your pride for them extra two cubic inches and go with a proven kit.
Boring to 98" is much more cost effective.
Our # HMM-0980 kits with a complete Cometic top end gasket kit are only $675.00 for example.(using your cyls.)
With the use of an S&S .585 and a good set of heads/intake/exhaust 120hp would be in reach.

Use Scott's recipe and use the money you saved for rear tires. Check out hillsides Facebook page...theyve turned out some wicked 98 inches.
