I am at a loss with that's wrong with my bike. 08 Ultra Classic.... When I bought the bike everything was fine, I removed the baffles from the stock pipes and everything was still running good, less fuel mileage but running decent. There was an constant flame coming from the exhaust and burning the pipe, and horrible backfire. So I bought a fuelpak 3 to hopefully correct it. That's when everything went down hill, the flame didn't stop, still backfiring like crazy regardless of what time Vance and Hines sent me... I went ahead and bought a pair of megaphone slip ons and tuned again. Backfiring and flame has stopped but I have basically lost all power in 6th gear. I can run it up to 90 95 in 5th an the moment shift to 6th, I slow down, throttle wide open.
I checked timing and everything I can think of, I'm low on funds so taking it to the dealership is not an option... My next route to check would be the valves. However, is there something else I could be missing? Is there a way to check which cylinder might be messing up? Maybe burnt a valve? Is there a way to narrow down which cylinder might have the burnt valve without taking the motor apart. I can get the valves done if that's what's needed but I can't go replacing parts that are fine, which I'll have to do if I just guess and it's the wrong cylinder.
Thanks in advance.
