Default Comp cams

Not a question, just a heads up for guys about to drop some coin on a camshaft. Comp has their stuff marked down to ~$175 online. Which is almost $100 cheaper than most bike sites sell them for, Summit sells them for what Comp has listed. Just picked up a TC-3102 myself.

Cheers

I got the TC-3102, had to wait for Comp on the #850 lifters. Everything went in, but have been too busy to schedule any dyno time. Just running a map from FM for an Andrews 57h that I ran autotune on.

Word I got was Sheffer? HD over in Indiana has great luck with these, haven't spoke with them personally

Please post dyno results along with any other motor mods and basic cam profile, i.e, intake/exhaust open/close; lift; TDC lift, ground in advance and duration. Not a common cam choice but always interesting to see results from different stuff.

Motor is stock 103HO, Arlen Ness air cleaner. Rush HO header, FM 4in Jackpots.

Cam specs are as follows,
LSA 103.5+3.5 (so it has some advance ground in)
Intake:
Lift .569", .172" @ TDC
Duration @.053, 234°
Centerline 100
Open 17° BTDC, close 37° ABDC

Exhaust:
Lift .569", .161" @ TDC
Duration @.053, 242°
Centerline 107
Open 48° BBDC, Close 14° ATDC

Wouldn't be bad if it wasn't for the 3.5° advance. Not much for hp. They'll be toast before 5500rpm. Some might like that.
Similar to the 204s with more lift.

It's basically an Andrews 57h. I bet it'll peak around 5500rpm. Look at the published lobe centerline's of some "popular" camshafts, you'd be surprised how many of them are ground this way

It'll be close. Depend on the exhaust really. I'm not saying they're bad by any means. I just prefer them to rev a little higher and the 3.5° takes it the other way 200-300rpm. They'd be similar to the S&S 570s I run too without that 3.5°. They're done at 5700.
Be interesting to see how they do and what your tune looks like. The moco has a dip in timing somewhere around 3000rpm WOT for their stage 2 w/ 204s base cal in the SE Pro Super Tuner software. They have a 4° advance grind as I recall.

Sure about that? Unless the S&S site is wrong, the lobe centerline is 100/107 for the 570's. Which doesn't bother me, if I ran one of their cams it would be that one, IMO it probably runs out the top better due to increased duration. The 570 is riding that fine line of needing a .030 HG swap.

Pretty sure the 204 cams have 8* ground in advance.
