Default Engine Light ON and Engine Cut-Off

Question: I was riding my 2017 Road King to work this morning and all of a sudden the bike cut off and the oil light was on. I pulled over to the side and waited a few minutes. I also checked the oil level and it was fine. I'm not sure how long it has been since the oil was changed, but its been a while. I cranked it back up and it seemed fine, there was no oil light either, I got back on the road and drove it slowly another few miles to work. Any idea what happened? Is it ok to drive? Should i be concerned? Thanks!

Start with the usual suspects- battery cable connections at the terminals and the grounds. Loose and dirty connections will make for crazy stuff happening. You should also check for codes. And since you don't know how long since you changed the oil and filter, now would be a good time.

When the engine turns off and the bike is powered up the oil light will come on because there is no pressure.

Ed beat me to it, I was going to ask if the light was on before the engine shut off
