I'm converting a 883 using a KB 1200 +20 piston kit. Having my original cylinders bored / honed and installing my original 883 heads. Are 3.50 head gaskets the right ones for this?
yes but you might want to re-think using KB pistons,,if you do use them make sure that your machinist is aware of the required clearances with them.

Thanks, marcodarq. The machinist is well versed in performance work. I know that one of the advantages of the KB pistons is the ability to operate on lower clearances. So, I was planning on providing the specs when I drop off the pistons and cylinders. I was sure that the 3.50 would be correct for the head gaskets. My concern was that the .020 over on a cylinder size might make a difference in head gasket. Just thought I would ask.

a lot more problems with the KB hypertechnic pistons than just clearance.we`ve seen them break for no reason many times.we refused to use them for years here
I'm in Fort Myers. The oldest machine shop here is Hood's. They handle most of the automotive machine work around here. Quite a bit of performance work.
