Problem getting Fuel Moto quickie pushrods back in to there position. Push rods dont want to collapse enough to get past lifter covers. Any ideas what im doing wrong. Bike is a 2019 RGU. everything went well up to this point. Did cam swap. Im stuck at this point..
Smith Brothers (Fuel Moto re-branded) makes an EZ install (not quick install) push rod which sounds like that is what you have but not sure. You should have received instructions; did the instructions included tank removal?
It has been a while since I have used SB push rods but the last set I did use was the EZ install variety. You first have to get the lifter on the heel of the cam (lowest lifter position), then remove the bottom section of the pushrod that drops into the lifter; then you have to thread the adjustor all the way back up into the top section of the pushrod to gain enough clearance to swing the top section in over the bottom section; then you have to thread the adjustor all the way into the lower section until it bottoms out; then you are ready to adjust.
If you did not receive instructions, call SB and have them send you some.
They should go right in. Are you sure you have the compression and exhaust ones on the correct side? Maybe you're not inserting into the valve all the way. Is it just one or all of the pushrods that aren't going in?
Silly question maybe, but are you inserting them into the lifter bores first, or into the head bores first?
Cheers!

I am putting them into the head bores first and i am at top dead center on rear cylinder but i wouldnt think top dead center would make a difference to just get the push rods in place but only for adjustment
Not familiar with those rods, but many e-z install rods are 2 different lengths. Short for intake and a tick longer for exhaust. The difference in length is very little. Instructions don't always note that either.
