Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Wow that's really high compression there, 220 on the front cylinder, I think we need to revisit exactly everything you did to be able to determine exactly what's wrong. You said you refreshed the top end but it looks more like you did a pretty good high compression build. We need to know everything you did so we can figure out if you have the right CCP or not. And judging by the numbers you have with a 20 lb difference I would suspect that the front cam is advanced a tooth with that 220 CCP... Need specific to properly diagnose..
103 harley jugs, mahle 103 pistons, heads and valves were powder coated and cleaned with new feuling seals, cycle rama 570-2 cams, tbr gen 2 exhaust, s&s oil pump and camplate, fuel moto adjustable pushrods, I believe that's all the engine upgrades I can recall. Also screamin eagle compensator Sprocket, chain , chain adjuster, screamin eagle clutch spring, starter clutch. The machinist who bored jugs and sold me pistons and rings said they were 9:7:1 I also installed a .030 cosmetic gasket. I have the cams timing marks lined up and the sprockets timing marks lined up and the sprockets fit right on the pinion shaft and missing tooth on cam. If it was off a tooth the timing marks wouldn't line up and the sprockets wouldn't go on correctly easily. I know it seems the most obvious cause but I don't see how it can be off. Also ring orientation and gap was checked and double checked. Thank you for all the help! This is ring orientation
Max, don't most front cams have a line or a dot that corresponds with the timing dimple on the inner sprocket? So, if you removed the rear cam sprocket in the photo in your last post, you can see the orientation of the dot on the face of the front cam which should be oriented at a 180* flat line drawn across to the center of the rear cam; if not, cam timing is off.

Yeah, you can do it that way.. The dots will be opposite.
I removed sprockets to check cam timing and the dots were closest together in straight line with eacher and the missing tooth on cam and flat on pinion shaft aligned and fit perfectly with sprockets.
I have a power vision tuner with a map from fuel moto. Will be going on dyno at cycle rama in couple weeks. Tuner reading codes of lean from from front 02 sensor and high efi. I will verify correct wires to injectors when I install the new ones in couple hours. Thanks
