97 Dyna lowrider with Evo. I get a sorta violent engine vibration exactly at 2000rpm but not under that or over that, 2000 on the dot. Other than that the bike runs so smooth, alot smoother than my rigidmount sportster. Is this a normal evo thing, or is it an issue. Any ideas?
I agree, and you can find plenty of posts about the rubber mounts and how to check them. Many posts with pics also.
Basically the rubber gets old, soft, and the mounts/engine sag. Especially the front where motor oil from the filter drains on the mount when doing oil changes. The oil softens the rubber over time.
Even based on age, it is probably time. Not saying that is your problem for sure, but worth a serious look.
