on my old 2009 bike I was able to pull up engine codes using the odometer button I have a 2021 cvo limited now with a 500 km on it just brought it out to wash it engine light is on, wasnt on when I put it away cpl days ago. any idea how to pull codes up on a 21 so i can see what it is and how fast I need to get it back to dealer to look at it I
Not sure if the 2021's are different, but on my 2018 Road Glide, press and hold the odometer trip reset button on the front side of the left handle bar control switches and turn on the ignition switch. You should see the speedometer and tachometer needles sweep, then information in the odometer, and can use the same reset button to scroll through the ECM, BCM and other controls on your bike to view any codes that are stored.
But I'd contact the dealer before doing anything with the hope they can get right to it, and don't clear any codes that are stored in case you do need to take it in. And, make notes of any codes so you can look them up to see what may be happening.
for my 2009 i had the complete code numbers for all the codes
any one have codes for the newer m8 motor
under ecm P1100h P1511h P1600h P2100h P2105h
under abs C1100h
under what looks like RAD the d is a weird shape U1405h
since I dont know how important any or these are at the moment I dont want to drive it ten minutes to the dealer, especially if rad pump isnt running they cant pick it up for 6 days, but if i get it there they will look at it saturday so guess im dragging my stinger trailer out of the garage tomorrow morning
It's a 2021 and still under warranty, so call the dealer, I wouldn't drive it based on the codes you have even though they are historic. Although something made the check engine light come on today. If they say you can drive it in, then do so but I'd let it be their decision.
The "h" indicates a historic code
P1511 ETC power management mode
P1600 ETC watchdog error
P1600 EFI Module Processor Internal Error / Watchdog Error
P2100 EFI Motor Circuit Open
P2105 EFI Forced engine shutdown
just going out to garage to get some wax on bike then load it up on my trailer and take it there probably in the rain tomorrow still under warranty 3 weeks old 500 miles on it
Since they all appear to be historic codes, there may be nothing to this but you need to know for certain. And you need to know why they are there in the first place, and why the light came on when it did. If they just clear the codes and give it back to you, I'd take it out for a good ride before you take it home and check to see if the light comes back on and any codes return.
I spend a total of 3 hours digging trailer out of junk in garage cleaning out another drive through garage to get to the backyard garage. hook trailer up to my explorer, time to move the bike i had started it at least 6 times including an hour earlier to move it closer to the trailer still has engine code , when I was ready to load it , turn the bike on engine light goes out after it runs for 10 seconds this time. codes should still be in storage since i didnt clear any of them took pictures of all of them Im guessing its a loose battery connection . so much for the pre check It did stall while sitting a stop light a few days earlier, started right back up. i bet it starting picking up codes after that and when they started repeating the engine light finally came on thanks for your help
