After reading as much as I can find on the topic, I am still not seeing the answer I have been looking for in any recent threads. I am rebuilding my 120R, keeping the 266 cams, and happy at the 10:5:1 compression. (Yes I am going with beehive springs in the heads) Since my cylinders need to be bored I was originally going to use the .10 over SE piston kit for the 4.060 bore.
Now, I am thinking to go to 4.125 on the bore (124”). I have been reading about the T-Man kit and there is some mention of machining needing to be done on the spigot and wondering why?
Is the larger bore shifting the rod centerline and introducing a clearance issue? Before I order up some Wisco or CP Carrilo pistons and taking the cylinder to my local machine shop, just wanted to clarify and avoid a disaster.

What did TR say when you called him? He is probably the best guy to talk to about his kits. I don't know if his kits are drop on or if you need to bore case for bigger spigot. There are drop on cylinders. At one time Axtell offered them. The 266 is a good cam and really turns on at 11 and higher.
I think you'll find that there isn't enough cylinder spigot left if you bore the stock cylinders to 4.125. You'll need to sleeve the cylinder and bore the cases.
just use S&S 4.625 FW`s & a S&S 4.125 cyl/piston kit.cases will need to get bored & i also recommend a timken conversion.we do alot of 124" builds including quite a few 120R to 124 builds
