Default SE 211 cams

I have a set of SE211 cams sitting in my garage that I received in a big bore kit I picked up for a 08 SG build. I've read what the book says but was wondering if any one has them in their bike and what they think of them. Looking for some honest feedback on them and not recommendations on other cams. Thinking of getting rid of them and would like to know how they are so I can give someone some kind of info. Any help is greatly appreciated

The 211s are a mid to upper range cams. No torque off idle; power starts about 3000 and hitting harder after that. Relatively low lift at about .500", late intake close and longer duration cams. More compression is needed to get any torque in the lower rpm range. There are so many better aftermarket cams, I doubt you will find many takers for the 211s. JMHO.

Thanks for the info. From what I've read they're not a popular cam, just wanted to make sure before I sell or trash them.

A lot of guys were using them in Dynas. Come on too late for heavy touring.

I love the 211 cams personally especially in high compression 95” builds, regardless of bike. They are soft off idle but like stated higher compression helps with that. They start to kick in at 2500 but at about 3k you get an almost turbo boost affect which is why I loved them, plus one of the better sounding at idle cams especially cold.

if you ride two up on a bagger a lot or are one of these typical bagger riders that think lugging the bike around under 2k rpm is a “good thing” then probably not a good choice. But if you like to hot rod a bit or aren’t so concerned about your 6th gear MPG and ride the bike in the rpm range you should be then I wouldn’t hesitate using them.

10:1 compression is a must 10.5:1 is better, and compression releases. I made 105/103 in a 95” street glide build years ago that was a blast

I had them in my 04 FXD that was 95" 9.7-1. I loved them. Came on around 2500 and pulled nicely. I later added a 4* cam gear to make it come on earlier. Plus, I think they are one of the best sounding cams available.
