I have a 1987 , 1340 evo that will not start, both plugs have spark and are brand new. I have tried squirting petrol straight into cylinders but it still wont fire.
The bike has been converted to regular points instead of the standard ignition system and normally runs fine.
Any help to troubleshoot this problem would be much appreciated.
the last time i rode it was fine, then it sat a few months, now i try to start it and nothing. Seems strange how top end could fail just sitting there
something is definitely not sealed up like it's suppose to be. If you have only 30 psi on the gauge , you either have rings not seating , or valves not closed all the way . Either way that engine needs to be torn down and inspected . There is no quick fix for this . Either some parts went bad, or workmanship was not done very well.

That is strange.. What else did you do to it?? 30 psi is extremely low... 140-160 psi on a stock motor.. Carburetor wide open and battery fully charged???
