Anyone ever have this issue?Downshifted, then all of a sudden bad tick, missing and popping noises,Sounded like all hell broke loose.
Bike is a 2016 Street Glide Special with the 110 stage 5 kit,35000 miles.
Closest dealer is a 5 hour drive away and I'm afraid that I might have to bite the bullet and trade her in(With a loss)Problem is no new bikes in stock at any of the dealers(3) within a 14 hour drive (I'm in Atlantic Canada)and god knows how long it would take them to fix it!!

Why not rebuild it? If that's what's needed. Sounds like you have some money into it already. You might be able to salvage some, or all of the 110 kit. Get the crank welded and balanced.
It's been paid off for a while now,i was thinking of trading before this happened but no new bikes available(or used either!)I just don't want to loose my season and a rebuild might take too long,Hoping for a simple fix??
Sounds like a lifter has failed. If you can tell which cylinder it is coming from, pull the pushrod cover and see if there is up and down play in the pushrod. You may need to rotate the engine to get each lifter on the heel of the cam (its lowest spot on the cam).
Paul has provided an excellent "first thing to check" suggestion. I'd recommend starting there. Might not be "catastrophic" after all. I understand the desire to get back on the road, but at the moment it sounds like you have a BIG paperweight.
You just might get lucky and get away with just a pushrod that loosened up or maybe a lifter that won't pump up. If...if you got that lucky you should throw the harley lifters as far away as you can lol...get a good quality aftermarket set. S&S , larrysmotorcyclemachine.com sells a great lifter, woods are good but they know it, to name a few. Hopefully you dodged a bullet but if not I know its a short season and it'll suck but I'd do a crank up rebuild into a 124
Opened her up,Busted lifter and scored the lifter bore hole.Called dealer and waiting for a reply.I may have to bite the bullet and buy a used bike to get me riding until they can actually fix it.wondering if I will need a whole new engine???
A picture of the lifter bore might be helpful for determining what to do. Scored lifter bores can be repaired, but it involves splitting the cases and a competent HD machine shop with experience with that kind of work. Once you split the cases, how far do you go then? Complete rebuild with welded flywheels etc?
