well ****. Thank you so much. I asked my local harley shop and they told me that it was just a crank vent hose and it was suppose to be like that. I had a feeling they were bot to sure.

It is a filter on the crankcase vent designed to stop the engine from SUCKING dirt etc back into the engine. Factory just had the vent hose with no filter.
