Default Shifter shaft seal replacement

Hey every one, I have to fix a leaking shifter shaft seal. I want to replace all the seals that I can while i'm in there. Bike is a 2006 FLHTCi with 83,000 miles. How many seals are there to replace? With this many miles while i'm in there how do you feel about putting a new belt? TYIA...

At that mileage, if you haven't would change the belt. When the pulley is off you can do the seals and rings behind it.

I've removed the seal, by putting a sheet metal screw into and pulling. It is a semit skilled event. I read someone on here that pushed it out from inside, by taking cover off. I;ve have only taken that cover off once, and the gasket was a bugger to scrape. But interesting idea.

Also check with that mileage that the inner race on the shaft has not walked in towards the tranny.

At 86,000 miles it is a good idea to replace all the seals on inner primary cover and all the seals on left side of transmission.

I would also replace the sprocket spacer (it seals against the big oil seal) and the inner primary bearing inner and outer races.

At that mileage I would also replace the belt.

Double check these part numbers with the parts catalog: HD Service Information Portal

Big oil seal 12067B

Quad Seal 11165

Main Drive Gear Seal 12035B

Shift Shaft Seal 12045 (Cometic 9259)

Pulley Spacer 33344-94

Pulley 40250-94C

Pulley Nut 35211-91B

Lockplate 40251-92A

Screws (2) 3594

Inner Primary Bearing Inner Race (double check this part number, I think there is an error in the parts catalog, I think the correct part number is 34091-85A).

Inner Primary Cover:

Jackshaft Oil Seal 12066A

Inner Primary Bearing Outer Race 9135

Oil Seal 12052A
