T. Cam tensioner

I was talking to a mechanic who just tore down a hydraullic tensioner set up around 45k, where pads were gone, bad lifters, and debris. I thought that was early. I am going to replace my lifters replace pads since open to inspect at 70k this winter. I would add lifters to repladement list, personally.

OEM Stock. Doesn't your 06 have the roller chains running (rolling) on tensioners?
There usually good for a long time. Mainly only needing changed if they get hard from the hot oil. And it's definitely hot in Florida.

I think DANA got roller chains in 06, most all others 07. Think all is good a 08 and on. As far as having roller chains on cam chain tensioners.
Better then gears on a low rpm Harley and use less HP.

As said I believe dyna got hydraulic tensioner in 06 everyone got them in2007,that I know. Was asking about lifters.

Later year 88s they cheapened crank too.
I go to a professional shop, and he says same thing. Harley was chasing it's tail when they went to 96" with problems.

The hydraulic tensioner was not what fixed the problem. The roller chain fixed the issue.
