Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
BTW, Rounders is the one that suggested it be moved here. Why? I don't know. What's the diff? Both are for motors..
I believe it was in welcome section before. You don't get technical people there.

The cylinder is same size just bigger hole for bigger piston. I have reused pushrods on two builds. Current build cam manufacturer said it needs adjustable pushrods
Another option is boring out your cylinders cost around $250 for boring
When people first started boring they only went to 95", now they go way bigger. My last 2 build I just stayed with trusted and true 95. Nice reliabtbuild, not going to stress the rest of the bike.
I also like lower compression, mild builds. Many will disagree with these last two choices.
Port, bore, mild cam, and you will have nice non EPA compliant bike that will make more power than bigger EPA compliant bikes
First I saw of it it was in the twin-cam-motors section.. Overzealous admin?
No, just doing my job; double posting is not allowed. The OP posted in the Welcome Area first and was advised to post in either the Twin Cam Motors or the Engine Mechanical Topic section. I replied in the Welcome Area that, of the two, the Engine Mechanical Section would be a better choice IMHO. Don't know why the OP decided to post in both but he is new to the forum and just didn't know any better; everyone has to learn the rules of the road. I also gave the OP a choice on which to delete and suggested it be the one in the Twin Cam Motors section. I would not call that overzealous.
JMHO, but I think the Twin Cam Motors section is redundant and should be deleted but others don't agree. That section was added some time back, maybe a year or so and I didn't understand why then, particulary since it was placed in the Harley Davidson Motorcycles sub-forum but WTFDIK.
And ignition.. From the other post. You will need a better set of heads (ported), a programmable ignition and air cleaner. CR set to 10.3-5 to 1 It will be easier with a mikuni carb.
I don't know if the bike is carbed or EFI; don't see either in any of his three posts. I could have missed it but re-read all three which are identical (copy/paste) and could not a reference to either.

All 03 Dynas were carbed.. They didn't go to EFI until 2004.
My bad, I thought buyers had a choice like the softails.

personally I think a forum for each motor. Personally I think people post to much in family of bike. Bike not starting is not unique to touring or Softail .
Though you get to many forums it gets spread out to much.
