This is a fact and I omitted the part of watching/feeling the lifters in my earlier post about using my finger in the sparkplug hole to know that the piston is in fact moving up to the top of the stroke in the cylinder, and then using a plastic chopstick for fine tuning. That was my error and sorry if it caused some confusion, but I guess it did huh........

If you watch the lifters, there's no need to worry about the position of the piston. Using the proper sequence, it takes care of itself. The only reason to remove the spark plugs when adjusting the valves is to make the engine easier to turn over as you rotate the flywheels.

True, I just like knowing it is right at TDC for the OCD part of me. Makes me feel better, lol......

The problem with OCD is you start messing with things that don't matter and because of the distraction you overlook something that does. It is truly a curse...
