Hey all, I just want to give you a little tip on these DK Custom's, Rocker Lockers.. I got my stage 4 cylinder heads back from repair a while ago to help correct valve geometry and I'm installing a set of S&S rockers, the 1.725"s into Vulcan engineering rocker mount assemblies. I had to shim the rockers because the end play was in excess of .019". I wanted to make sure that the rollers were centered the best they could be over the valve tips.. So I ordered up a set of Rocker Lockers to help center the rocker mount.
Well as I was installing the very first one on the push rod end side, I had an issue where the bolt that they supply with the kit damaged the inside of the sleeve. This made it difficult to get the bolt back out.. most likely this was due to the close machining tolerances from Vulcan engineering on the rocker mounts.. I had to unthread it to get it out.
So what I'm suggesting is that anyone that tries these in the future to use their OEM rocker plate assembly bolt to install them and use oil to help ease the process..The OEM bolts are shouldered bolts whereas the one supplied in the kit is just a low grade carbon fully threaded bolt, 5/16-18 3" long.
I was able to ream the sleeve so at least I got to work in but not everybody has reamers. After this and using the OEM bolts it was a piece of cake..
I would like to add though that these sleeves definitely center the rocker plate assembly perfectly,. The rollers on my rockers are centered very well on the valve. I have confidence that this will work very well.. It is a good product and most probably won't even have this issue that I had because these are aftermarket machined rocker mounts which probably have a tighter clearance when machined compared to OEM. I still recommend them highly. I also suggest that when you get them to get the eight piece kit because it also has a sleeves for the valve and of the rocker mount.. Which will definitely ensure proper alignment..
Good luck...
I recently installed the Rocker Locker kit and it didn't come with any bolt. The included parts were:
4 - Hardened Brass Bushings
1 - Washer
1 - 5/16 Nut
1 - Teflon Centering Tool
2 - O-rings
Hello everyone.

I just ordered Rocker Lockers from JPCycles and curious if I absolutely need any other parts or gaskets to install them.
I know a lot of owners suggest, "While you're in there...", but I'm more interested in what is necessary to install the Locker Rockers.
Thanks!
