Default Sportster Evo Question

Looking for input on a question I can't find an answer to, hopefully not posting in the wrong place. Got a chance to pick up a used 21 1200 Sportster Iron on a deal, engine failed due a rod bearing on flywheel end. The guy has a 14 donor 1200 as well and I cannot readily find if these will play nice together or if it's going to be a giant headache.
So hopefully y'all can provide some insight here. Any meaningful input is appreciated!
P.S. yes, they are both Evo's. Had someone disagree with me that the 21 had to be a RevMax

Thanks in advance!

To get it back running and riding. I don't have any grand plans to build a custom bike or anything like that at the moment.

2014 was the year the Sportster got CAN bus electronics. I cannot see any particular difference in the engines.

Looking at Hammer Performance upgrades it appears aspects of the engine haven't changed since 2004.

Andy, so hypothetically for the hard parts there's no issues, just have to ensure you have the appropriate electronics and sensors? I'm very familiar with CAN BUS in the automotive world, just now starting to play with the motorcycle stuff. Thank you!

I am more confident all the electronics are exactly the same for all bikes from 2014 to 2021.

Looking at the engine, one example is the flywheel assembly. That part hasn't changed since 2004.

You can sift through the parts catalogue to see all the parts used here:- Genuine Harley-Davidson OEM Service Parts | Harley-Davidson USA
