Compensator/ primary issue?
Ok people. 2008 ulltra.
103Kit with S&S 551 cams.
I am having an issue that is bothering the heck out of me. I came off an 04 heritage that was throttle cable. The 08 is obviously throttle by wire.
Here is my issue. The bike really has no slight off idle throttle when riding. Meaning there is power there or no power there. Like there is no 0%-3%% throttle. I do hear a slight slap sound in the left side of the bike when I let off the throttle and get back on it when riding. (chopping the throttle) Also the bike has begun to shake more at idle.
The motor runs great. But I am wondering if the throttle being so touchy is a compensator or primary side issue. I have heard that the throttle can be tuned to not be so touchy. But just wondering if I may have more than just a tune issue.

It'll be throttle progressivity that needs adjust if you've had the problem since the kit.
If you have over 20000 miles on the original comp, it is potentially shot. It's not your throttle problem tho. The slap is a sign the comp is going out.
