Smoking exhaust
I just installed the full sac dual conversion on my 2002 rk w/ se touring slash cut mufflers. I noticed after letting it run for a bit it was starting to smoke where the new pipes went. I am new to the harley stuff and didnt know if that could just be any cleaners or maybe the wd40 i sprayed on to get the old ones off??? also when I pulled my old rear stock crossover header off there was no gasket from the cylinder to pipe just the c clip and chrome flange so I was even thinking and just installed the full sac header w/ just the c clip and chrome flange, was there suppose to be a gasket to go on first??? Sorry for the dumb questions just new to this...

Yes, it is oil on the pipes that are causing the smoke....either WD-40 or packing oil....I hope you cleaned the outside with glass cleaner or similar before you started it. If you didn't, you may end up with discoloration burned on the pipes.

damnit.. so if i didnt see it come out should I have a problem w/ leaking as in the cold i didnt see any smoke coming out around it like it did out the mufflers... i knew I would mess up somewhere..lol

'least it's an easy fix' if leaking, & I'm sure that won't be repeated..
