My experience has been that spark plugs have little effect on performance. It seems that people often *think* they have more power after installing the latest $5 spark plug, but I attribute that to two things:
1. Their old plugs were shot and installing *any* new plug would have improved performaince and...
2. Anticipation of improvment: They were expecting more power and convinced themselves that they got it when, in fact, they did not.
When I upgraded to Edelbrock Performer cylinder heads, I used the plugs recommended by Edelbrock: Good old Champion RN12YC's (actually, I installed RC12YC's: They're the same plug but they take a 5/8" socket rather than a 13/16" one, which makes the install/remove process a little easier.)
Electricity takes the path of least resistance. You get a split prong plug, it only fires on one prong at a time. It may jump back and forth but you get one spark. No difference in performance.
