Baffles Removal
I am trying very hard to keep my 09 iron custom original with all stock parts, just modifying them. I took the baffles out of the stock exhaust, and just want to know if should be changing anything engine/fuel related. It smells like its running rich, and seeing as i'm doing this all myself and as cheap as possible due to new baby on the way wondering if anyone had anything to share about it.

I removed mine from my 07 Dyna around 2 weeks ago.
One of the dumbest things I've ever done.
I'm going to do a full exhaust with a power commander soon.
It wont be that cheap, but at least it will sound right and I'll have my gas mileage back.

Any time you modify the in or out of how your bike breathes you should balance it out...so if you allow the air to flow more freely through your exhaust by taking out or modifying the baffles you should balance out the intake by adding a more freeflowing intake and then balance it all out by tuning the fuel/air mixture. To do that with these modern EFIs you'll probably need to install a SE or equivalent air cleaner and a PCIII or SERT system. I would just go all the way and get new exhaust (I've always used V&H on my bikes...love 'em), a SE filter and PCIII or SERT.
