Engine has bad vibration

Had a engine built for my bike. At around 4000 rpm the air cleaner hits the inside of my leg and a vibration can be felt throughout the bike. It happens in any gear inculding neutral and at any speed. Any clue?
I was thinking it could be something out of balance in the engine or even a mapping issue with timing.

mapping issue, i wouldn't think so. something out of balance and not felt until you hit that RPM range sounds right to me. If that engine is still in warranty I'd bring it back and make them right the situation.

sounds like a crank that's not perfectly balanced

this post is old and he may have fixed it by now but....Could be either of the two or both at the same time.
