Later Evo compression problem
I have a later style Evo motor, rear cylinder has ZERO compression. Front has 100+ PSI. The cylinders were bored/honed and matched to new pistons before I bought it.
Anyway, upon my investigation, the rear cylinder has a GREEN pushrod for the exhaust, and a YELLOW one for intake. The book says it is supposed to be PURPLE for rear, and BLUE for intake, and the Green/yellow should be up front.
Not to get the cart too far ahead of the horse, because I haven't popped open the front cover yet... But if these pushrods are installed ***-backwards like I believe, would this give me the zero compression reading?
I'm guessing the guy I bought this from, who built it for me, just had parts laying around enough to call it an engine.
Thanks.
There is nothing wrong with one piece pushrods, as long as they are used with a compatible cam and are installed in the proper position.
