compensator nut and clutch nut, sizes please.
i asked at my local harley shop the other day and they told me that in order to bust the motor and trans apart i'll need a 1-1/2" and 1-3/16" sockets. i plan on removing the primary so i can get the motor our of my 92 fxr for harley's remanufacture program. i went to sears and got the 1/2" drive so i can use my impact driver. compensator sprocket nut is right hand thread and clutch nut is left hand thread. is this correct or do i gotta make another trip for sockets? i have a clymers book for the evo's for my year of bike, but i'd much rather use a real person's experience with this. heck, if those "dorks from new york", the OCC group can figure it out, then it should be a no brainer. thanks in advance for your replies.

yes they steered you right on everything....
i just had my primary apart putting mid-controls back on my FXR
1-1/2 and 1-3/16 is correct (I had to buy a 1-1/2 as well)
compensator is normal and the clutch nut is left-hand thread...so righty loosey
youll have to fabricate some sort of lock to keep everything from spinning when you loosen them and when you re-tourque them .........(i believe its 70-80 for the compensator and 80-100lb/ft for the clutch...or vise-versa)
i used a piece of flat stock cut to length to go between the two gears......
